Anne (Johnson) Long and Donna (Barrow) Krueger have opened their doors for business at Marine Insurance Services, 45A S. Main St. Both women are carrying on a long tradition of work dedicated to Clintonville area insurance customers
Long’s father, “Chub” Johnson, began working in the insurance business in 1960 with his business partner, Clarence Barker. Anne began working as a secretary for her father in 1977 after graduating from Clintonville High School in 1975. She now resides in Marion and has two daughters and two grandsons
Her father’s business grew through the purchase of the Carl Much agency in 1980 and the acquisition of the Bud Miller agency, Marion, in 1984. Chub & Anne operated Johnson Insurance Agency, a separate entity from the current Johnson Insurance Agency operating in Clintonville, until 1999. In 1999 the agency was sold to his brother in law, Sam Holmes. The business was operated as The Phoenix Group. Anne continued her career with the Phoenix Group until December 2008, when she accepted a position with Marine Insurance Services, a new insurance agency owned by Marine Credit Union in La Crosse. Other divisions of Marine Insurance Services are located in Chicago, Fond du Lac, La Crosse, Oconto Falls, Tomah, and Westby.
Donna started her insurance career in 1991 with a State Farm agency in Appleton, WI. In 1995, she relocated to Wittenberg, along with her husband Robert, to continue her career as a district representative for Aid Association for Lutherans. In 1998, Donna and her husband decided to move back to their home town of Clintonville to raise their daughter who was born in 1997 and to be closer to their families. They also added a son to their family in 1999. In June of 1998, Donna accepted a position working for Anne and Chub at Johnson Insurance. She then also worked for The Phoenix Group until December 2008, when she accepted a position with Marine Insurance Services.
A full line of insurance products is offered at Marine Insurance Services, including home, auto, business, life, and health insurance. The business is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment during the evenings and on Saturdays.
